Install ActFax through Windows Group Policy Objects (GPO)

Question

Can I install ActFax through Windows Group Policy Objects (GPO)?

Answer

At installations with many workstations it makes sense to distribute the fax client through Windows Group Policy Objects (GPO). That way the installation and uninstallation of ActFax can be done with a minimum administration effort.
To install ActFax through Group Policy Objects you need to use the MSI installation package, available for download at the download area. When ActFax is installed through a Group Policy Object, the setup automatically selects the fax client component for the installation. When installing the fax client through a MSI installation package, it is also possible to use command line parameters, for example to set the IP address of the server or to just install the printer component.
