Transfer ActFax installation to a new computer

Question

How can I transfer an existing ActFax installation to a new computer?

Answer

To transfer an existing ActFax installation to a new computer, copy the complete ActFax installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\ActiveFax) with all subdirectories from the old server to the new server. After the files have been copied you need to run the ActFax Setup on the new server to create the programs and services on the new server. That way all data and settings are transferred to the new system. This also works when moving from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows or vice versa. The fax server should be stopped when copying the files to the new system.
The installation drive and directory may also change when you transfer the files to the new server. For example it would also be possible to transfer an ActFax installation from C:\Program Files\ActiveFax on the old server to D:\Programs\ActFax on the new server.
